What's The Starbucks Ombré Pink Drink Taste Like?

I admit, I totally just went to Starbucks for the Instagram. I mean, just look at the drink, how could you not? Their new Ombré Pink Drink is certainly a rival to the previous Pink Drink, and will most definitely dominate your news feeds this summer. Nevertheless, it’s more than just an Instagram prop — but a refreshing drink to enjoy on a hot summer day. So, what does the Starbucks Pink Drink taste like?

In my opinion, after sampling it myself, it is a crazy refreshing drink with a harmonious mix of tangy tea and milky goodness. The Starbucks Ombré Pink Drink is made with Starbucks’ fruit Cool Lime Refreshers Beverage™, Coconutmilk, Teavana® Shaken Iced Passion Tango™ Tea, and a splash of hibiscus notes. What is most surprising to me when sipping on this new drink is how strong the hibiscus notes are, even though the drink has only a “splash” of it, and how the mix of Iced Passion Tango Tea and Cool Lime Refreshers gives the drink a surprising minty flavor. Unlike Starbuck’s first Pink Drink, the Ombré Pink Drink has a few slices of lime floating within the drink to give it an extra kick of lime — again, a surprisingly refreshing combination with the passion tea, hibiscus, and the Coconutmilk.

Now, since the drink is ombré-d and most of the bottom was coconut milk, I was first sipping on a heavy amount of Coconutmilk and almost no tea. So, after a few sips (and a whole lotta Instas), I decided to say goodbye to the beautiful ombré and mix it up — and as a result, I found it even more pleasantly refreshing! Especially with the added slices of lime, the drink continued to be tangy until the last sip. It's also not a sweet drink, so for someone like me who isn't totally into sweet drinks, I was content with the Ombré Prink Drink's flavor.

If you’re not familiar, the new Starbucks Ombré Pink Drink is a new offering that was rolled out on June 1. Unlike the iconic Unicorn Frappuccino that took the internet by storm a few weeks ago, Starbucks is planning on keeping the Ombré Pink Drink on the menu all year-round. So no need to stress about an end date for the Ombré Pink Drink — you can even order it this fall if you want.

But also, don’t wait until the fall for this drink. In my opinion, it’s the exact companion you’re going to want on the beach this summer — both to keep you refreshed, and for selfies obviously. So head to Starbucks before hitting up the beach this weekend, because I promise, you won’t be disappointed!
