'Bob's Burgers' Season 8 Could Score More Great Guest Stars

FOX

If all you wanted for Christmas was Star Wars star Adam Driver in an episode of Bob's Burgers, consider your wish granted. Driver guest stars in an hour-long Christmas musical special airing on Dec. 10, which also happens to be the last episode of Bob's Burgers Season 8 that will air in 2017. With such a huge star as Driver, whose appearance on the FOX animated show comes just days before the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, more amazing guest stars could be on the horizon when Bob's Burgers returns in 2018. The Belcher family has never disappointed in that area, and so it should come as no surprise that there are plenty of people who have been suggested as potential guest stars for Bob's Burgers.

In an interview that creator Loren Bouchard gave to Entertainment Weekly, he said that even though he'd like to work with big-name celebrities on Bob's Burgers, like Paul McCartney or Bill Murray, he doesn't try too hard to get those types of guest stars. "I've given up having white whales," Bouchard said. "We've done so well with luck and our low-to-the-ground, friends-of-friends casting style that in a way, I want to keep going with that."

Inspired by the spirit of that grassroots casting, I searched on Twitter for ideas of who should guest star when Season 8 returns. Thankfully, it doesn't seem like fans will have to wait that long for Season 8 to resume since The Futon Critic has the return date as Jan. 7, 2018. That date could change since it doesn't appear that FOX has officially announced when the next episode will air, but that would be in line with what happened for Season 7. But whenever Season 8 returns, there will need to be some great guest stars to live up to Driver's musical performance in "The Bleakening." So here are some ideas for upcoming guest stars — whether in Season 8 or beyond — courtesy of Twitter.

Björk

The voice of Louise, Kristen Schaal, joked on Twitter the year that Bob's Burgers premiered that her voice comes from musician Björk blowing in her face at night. The Season 6 episode, "Secret Admiral-irer," already made a joke about "grain alcohol from Iceland" being called "Björk's hard lemonade." And with her unique style, she'd fit right in with the Belcher's weirdness.

Halsey

Speaking of musicians, singer Halsey joked in 2014 that she only does music as a way to get a gig on Bob's Burgers. With all the music featured on the show, she could easily join for a song, so someone make that happen stat.

Bailey De Young & Betsy Brandt

After The New Yorker TV critic Emily Nussbaum tweeted that she wants a show that stars Bailey De Young (formerly Bailey Buntain) from Bunheads and Betsy Brandt from Breaking Bad, The Wall Street Journal reporter Michael Calia responded with the suggestion that they could both do voice work for Bob's Burgers. They'd just need to take a break from their shows The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Life In Pieces, respectively, to make it happen.

Marc Maron

Back in 2011, someone asked Marc Maron if it was his voice in an episode. Sadly, Maron said it wasn't, but why shouldn't he be a guest voice? After all, he worked with Bouchard before on Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist. And Bouchard was a guest on Maron's podcast, "WTF with Marc Maron," in 2012.

Jillian Hall

The retired WWE wrestler responded to a fan's tweet that indicated she would be down for a voiceover. She has made it clear on social media that she's a fan of the show and a professional wrestling-inspired episode could actually fit into Bob's Burgers pretty well.

Chuck Schumer

The current Senate minority leader probably has many other things on his mind right about now, but Comedy Central's Indecision Twitter account suggested in 2013 that he'd do a great job voicing a female character. (After all, Linda and Tina are both voiced by men.) Considering his cousin Amy Schumer made an appearance in Bob's Burgers Season 7, it's not entirely out of the question.

Tim Kaine

ESPN writer Kavitha A. Davidson mentioned that another politician, U.S. Senator and Hillary Clinton's running mate Tim Kaine, sounds an awful lot like regular customer Teddy. Perhaps Kaine could provide a voice as a Teddy doppelgänger.

The Rockettes

In a conversation between Gene voice actor Eugene Mirman, Schaal came up with the idea that the Rockettes should make an appearance on the show. Sure, you might not recognize their voices, but you'll be familiar with their dance moves.

Jemaine Clement & Bret McKenzie

It was rumored that the two members of Flight of the Conchords were going to be on Season 6 after CinemaBlend reported that the cast discussed it at Comic-Con, but it never came to fruition. Yet, New Zealanders Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie are pretty much destined to be on the show considering that both Mirman and Schaal were on their HBO series. Rhys Darby, who was the band's manager on Flight of the Conchords, was also on Bob's Burgers in Season 7. And the connections don't end there since, as seen above, Clement performed at Bob's Burgers Live in 2015 alongside the voice of Mr. Fischoeder, Kevin Kline. So from the bottom of this Flight of the Conchords fan's heart, go ahead and guest star already, pretty please.

Even if none of the above people lend their voices to Bob's Burgers when it returns for the rest of Season 8, you have the sound of Driver's singing voice to get you through the Bob's Burgers famine. And no matter how Bouchard continues to get his guest stars, his process always has hilarious outcomes.
