FX announced back in January that Atlanta, the network's breakout show that originally made its debut last fall, wouldn't be returning for a second season until next year. To most fans, the thought of waiting a full year for another season of the show felt like a lifetime, but on Dec. 10, the internet was abuzz with questions about when exactly Season 2 of Atlanta is set to premiere. The show is apparently slated for a 2018 premiere, though it appears that it might be a while until fans know the exact premiere date. Bustle reached out to FX for more information, and a rep from the network said the Atlanta premiere date has not been officially announced.

UPDATE: FX announced in January that Atlanta will return for Season 2 on Mar. 1, 2018.

EARLIER: Due to Donald Glover's production schedule, Season 2 of Atlanta had to be pushed back by a year. But now, according to some Instagram posts from a few of the show's cast members — Lakeith Stanfield, Brian Tyree Henry, and Hiro Murai — production on the season has officially wrapped. The three actors all took to their personal Instagrams to announce the news, posting a photo of themselves next to Glover and Zazie Beets wearing matching jackets with Greek letters on them. Henry's caption, though it reveals that filming has wrapped, doesn't mention when viewers should expect to be able to tune in. It reads, "These pledges. My family. Alfred Tau Lamda. Season 2. It’s a wrap. We crossed. I love you."

Stanfield on the other hand appears to be trolling fans, as he's apparently edited his caption multiple times already to feature different premiere dates. His caption originally mention that Season 2 would air in February 2018, but according to this Instagram post from Complex, Stanfield later changed the date to read April 2018. So far, he's changed the caption three more times, saying December 2018, January 2019, and, as of now, March 2019 and 2020.

Obviously fans are taking notice of his teasing and they're feeling all sorts of emotions right now.

Meanwhile, as the rest of the world is currently on its toes trying to figure out what the truth is, the cast of the show is celebrating Season 2's official wrap.

The show's 10-episode first season appeared on FX in September 2016. It stars Glover, who's also the show's creator, as Earnest (or "Earn"). Earn is a Princeton University dropout struggling to make a living for himself and the daughter he shares with his ex-girlfriend Vanessa (played by Zazie Beets) in, you guessed it, Atlanta. While struggling to make ends meet, he discovers that his cousin, an up-and-coming rapper named Paper Boi (played by Henry), is slowly reaching the brink of stardom, and agrees to be the artist's manager.

The show was met with praise from many critics, and was later hailed as one of the best comedies of 2016. Atlanta also won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and two Golden Globes for Best Comedy Series and Best Actor in a Comedy Series. According to Deadline, the show was also ranked as basic cable's most-watched new comedy in three years for adults aged 18-49, as well as FX's highest-rated comedy in the network's history.

Since Glover signed on to play the role of Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo Star Wars movie that filmed this year, Season 2 of Atlanta had to be pushed back. The film is set to hit theaters next year, and has an official release date at the moment, unlike Atlanta.

The cast of the show appears to be relishing in the fact that filming on the show has officially wrapped, so it might be a while until fans finally get a clear answer as to when they should expect new episodes.
