Glossier Just Launched Its First Body Product & It's All About The Glow

Glossier is the Internet's most beloved minimalist beauty brand. The millennial pink loving brand is several products deep into facial care and makeup, from its divine Milky Jelly Cleanser to creamy Cloud Paint blushes to customer-requested sunscreen. It was only a matter of time before Glossier launched body care products. And that time is now.

Glossier first body product, the Body Hero Duo, is available as of Sept. 13 via the brand's site. Body Hero is a two-step system that promises to keep skin hydrated AF. It's comprised of a body wash and a moisturizer, and the brand is going for the glow with this skin-loving tag team.

According to a press release, Body Hero was inspired by the facial oil cleansers and rich creams that are typically reserved for skin above the neck. Like most Glossier products, Body Hero is different than the usual body wash or moisturizer you pluck from the aisles of CVS or Target. Many mainstream products are comprised of lots of water and oil-stripping soaps. Not so with Body Hero.

The ingredients are high quality and lush, but the system could not be more simple.

The first part of the duo is the Daily Oil Wash, which cleanses and nourishes simultaneously. The dual action wash relies on a seven-oil blend to really make it sing.

The product, which is an "oil-to-froth" formula, has a fresh scent with hints of orange and neroli. Don't blame Glossier if you are burying your nose in the crook of your arm all day after your first Body Hero use. Well, actually, maybe you can.

Oh, and the oil-based product has no water in it, meaning your cleanse is deep and powerful. Try getting that promise from even the most luxurious brands.

The partner product to the Daily Oil Wash is the Daily Perfecting Cream, which performs as powerfully as your usual face lotion. In addition to moisturizing, it helps improve elasticity and smoothness. Plus, of course, adds some glow.

The formula is lightweight and melts into skin, but it's also a powerhouse with light-reflecting particles that allow you to get that glow.

The set is $35 together. Separately, the body wash is $18, while the cream is $22. You save $5 if you purchase the pair.

Not bad, especially if you consider how much a facial cleanser and moisturizer will run you.

The brand, which has always emphasized "skin first, makeup second" recruited Lara Pia Arrobio, Paloma Elsesser, Mekdes Mersha, Tyler Haney, and Swin Cash, all of whom show off their glowing, hydrated epidermis in the ad campaign.

Though the campaign models all have gorgeous skin in common, they all come from different backgrounds, making Body Hero's campaign highly diverse. Notably, Swin Cash shows off her baby bump in her spot, bringing attention to the need for representation of pregnant women in ad campaigns.

But there is also notable body and racial diversity in the campaign, which is something we can all get behind.

Glossier products are all about minimalism, from the brand's popular Boy Brow to their powerhouse lip gloss. The Glossier brand isn't meant for those wanting full coverage and heavy product. Rather, it's perfect for those who want a makeupless makeup look, if you know what I mean.
