Eight months into 2017 and it's almost time to say goodbye to summer. But before you let the seasonal depression seep in just yet, because there is some good news to the changing seasons: Winter being closer than ever just means that UnReal Season 3 is coming back. This summer marked exactly a year since fans got to feast their eyes on the mind blowing second season. And while an exact premiere date for Season 3 has yet to be announced, according to Deadline, the Lifetime breakout is expected to make its return to the small screen sometime early 2018.

Update: On October 17, 2017, it was announced that UnReal Season 3 will premiere on February 26, 2018.

Earlier: The scripted series following the lives of those behind the reality television show cameras, first aired in July 2015, and since, has become one of Lifetime's breakouts. Starring House of Card's Constance Zimmer and Roswell's Shiri Appleby, UnReal shows that the drama behind the scenes in reality television production is sometimes worth more screen time than that of the actual household names.

Although previously announced by the network, a summer debut didn't quite happen the way anyone expected. Instead of rubbing elbows with other summertime line-ups, Lifetime decided to push the Season 3 premiere so that it could combine forces with newly picked up psychological thriller You. It hasn't been confirmed whether both shows will piggyback off of each other on the same night, but doing so could definitely be a win-win for those are into both pseudo-reality dramas and science fiction.

Sure, the anticipation for the new UnReal season is brewing more than ever. But a 2018 showing could also give production more time to perfect the up and coming season, and since it's expected to have some pretty big changes already... who could argue with that?

Oh, and it looks like fans will get to explore the lives of Everlasting's cast and crew for some time to come. It was announced July that a fourth season of UnReal is also heading down the pipeline. Also reported by Deadline, delaying the show's third season premiere had no effect on whether or not it would hit the "renew" button on its breakout scripted series, and so the announcement was made at last month's TCA presentation.

If anything, it sounds as if UnReal junkies will be in for quite a treat in the new year. And who knows... with the show already being renewed for a fourth season before its third even airs, maybe fans won't have to wait another year and a half between breaks? And that could be the silver lining.
