This New 'TVD' Clip Is Bad News For Stefan

Bob Mahoney/The CW

It seems that Stefan is still MIA in this week's new episode of The Vampire Diaries. Judging from the exclusive clip below, it appears that Stefan really was abducted at the end of last week's episode, and he's still missing now. In the clip, Caroline calls Bonnie to check up on her and casually mentions that Stefan was going to visit her the night before. "I know Stefan was going to pay you a visit last night, and judging by the fact he never came home, it means it either went really well, or really not," Caroline says. Eek.

Unfortunately for Stefan, it seems Bonnie isn't ready to talk to anyone following Enzo's death, not even her best friend, and Caroline is actually just telling all of this to Bonnie's voicemail. Hopefully, Bonnie will get the message and call Caroline back ASAP to tell her that Stefan never made it to her door, because whoever has Stefan, you can bet they don't want to give him a hug and talk about his now human feelings. In fact, the official synopsis for the episode reads, "Stefan is held captive by a surprising acquaintance and is forced to confront a dark secret from his past." I don't know what that means, but it can't be good.

The clip also gives us a peek into what Bonnie is up to. From the looks of it, Bonnie is trying to reconnect to her witch powers, or, more specifically, to use her powers to communicate with Enzo. Her mom may have burned his body, but Bonnie hasn't given up hope on finding Enzo. She's sitting on her floor, surrounded by candles (her witch signature, if you will), cradling the necklace of Enzo's blood.

Aside from a missing Stefan and a grieving Bonnie, "The Lies Will Catch Up To You" also marks the return of big bad Kai (Chris Wood), and could be the first step in bringing back Elena before the end of The Vampire Diaries. Fingers crossed.
