Don't Miss Julianne & Derek Hough's Emotional Tour

I’m so used to seeing Julianne and Derek Hough on my television that they’re basically members of my family at this point. My Monday nights would be ruined for half the year if I weren’t religiously watching Dancing With The Stars (the other half of my Monday nights will be ruined if Nick Viall goes on The Bachelor again, but that’s a whole other story). But alas — Derek has gone to greener pastures to plan and produce his own shows, and it turns out that sis Julianne is right there along with him. Their joint tour Move – Beyond starts up soon. But how can you buy tickets to Derek and Julianne Hough’s tour?

Luckily for Hough fans like me, it’s not that hard. Just head to Ticketmaster or your other favorite ticket-buying site. The Move – Beyond tour starts April 17 in Akron, Ohio, before heading to cities like Louisville, Kentucky; Chicago, Illinois; Rochester, New York; Uncasville, Connecticut; Durham, North Carolina; Jacksonville, Florida; Lincoln, Nebraska; and Nashville, Tennessee. The whole tour wraps up on June 17 in Santa Rosa, California, so there are plenty of chances for you to see the Hough siblings dance their little hearts out in front of thousands of dance aficionados like myself. Tickets for Move – Beyond start from about $50 (it depends on the venue) and go up from there, and VIP packages are available if that’s your sort of thing.

I think I love dance so much because I can’t dance, so I like to live vicariously through people like Julianne and Derek. This tour seems like it will be pretty personal — Derek and Julianne performed a preview of Move – Beyond on this season of Dancing With The Stars, and it was intense. The dance was a retelling of their feelings about their parents’ divorce, and it was raw and emotional and absolutely knocked everyone’s socks off.

This is the third time that the Hough siblings have gone on tour together — they had traveling shows together in 2014 and 2015 — and they seem excited to do it all again. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Derek told host Michael Strahan, “We’re excited. This is beyond anything we’ve done before. It’s beyond our expectations. We really pushed the limits and we’re very, very excited about the show.”

And just for some bookkeeping here, Julianne and Derek aren’t doing the choreography for their show. I mean, I don’t know how you could focus on dancing the whole show straight and making up the moves for it, so that’s understandable. According to the tour’s website, Nappytabs, aka Napoleon and Tabitha are “world-renowned choreographer/directors best known for their Emmy Award-winning work on the FOX hit television show So You Think You Can Dance.” They’ve also choreographed for the likes of “Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Carrie Underwood, Prince, Will I Am, 50 Cent, Nicki Minaj, and Christina Aguilera,” so let’s say that Julianne and Derek are in good hands with Nappytabs.

I think it’s nice that Julianne and Derek are on tour as a twosome. They both have very busy careers, but they’re coming back to where they started — dancing together.
