Rumors continue to swirl around the Drake-J Lo romance, with People reporting that the two are indeed in a "relationship." (It's anyone's guess as to how serious the couple is, though.) So it's little wonder that early NYE predictions put Drake in close Jennifer Lopez vicinity, with many suspecting he would join his new paramour at her scheduled Miami performance at E11even nightclub. But then, the couple instead did a role switch-up, and Lopez was reportedly going to be cheering on Drake as he takes the Hakkasan stage in Las Vegas to ring in the New Year.

In a recent twist, it looks like J Lo may be performing in New York instead. She announced on Dec. 30 that she'd be a "special performance" on Carson Daly's New Year's Eve show, airing form New York City.

Perhaps it wasn't too hard to see this possibility coming, since J Lo cancelled her Miami performance on Dec. 21. She did suggest that she'd be spending the evening in a less public way, however, telling People that the choice to forego the show was to opt instead for "personal and family time." But it looks like rather than spend a quiet night in, Lopez might welcome 2017 via Sin City or the Big Apple. If it's the former, it might be a welcome break to cheer on Drake, rather than perform herself, and that would still definitely fall under the "personal" category. If she does show up live in New York, then it looks like Lopez may have dumped the Miami gig for a better deal.

Back in early October, Drake postponed several scheduled tour dates, due to an injured ankle. But fans tonight will be getting to see the rapper perform live, which suggests he's back in performing mode and ready to bring his signature charisma to the Vegas strip. And for one of the biggest celebratory nights of the year, the Hakkasan nightclub is a top spot. Home to world-renowned DJs, such as Calvin Harris and Tiesto, Drake will be ringing in the new year in one of the world's best party hubs.

The couple is also working on a joint musical venture, so look for more Drake-J Lo news to come in 2017.
