Whitney Port's Adorably Named Baby Is Here

It's a boy — and a Leo! On Monday, former The Hills star Whitney Port announced the birth of her first child, Sonny, in a blog post. Port announced her pregnancy back in February, and she welcomed her new baby with husband Tim Rosenman on Thursday morning. According to the post on Port's blog, Sonny was born at 12:30 am, and the star intends to blog about the whole day, her experience at the hospital, and bringing the baby home in future articles. She also posted the news to Instagram, along with a painted picture of her son's name and a humorous apology for being absent from social media.

While the brief post on her website didn't give many details on her time at the hospital, she did share some initial thoughts on motherhood.

"We’ve all heard mothers give the same speech about how life changing the love for your baby is, and it’s not like I didn’t believe it or anything, but I guess I couldn’t actually connect to those exact feelings until the doctor placed Sonny onto my chest," she wrote. "I love him and feel protective over him, but more than anything, I’m just like obsessed."

On Instagram, she reiterated this excitement, but promised to try not to be one of "those" moms on social media.

In the caption of the Instagram announcement, Port made a joke about her absence from social media. It read, "Sorry I've been MIA for like a week! I lost my phone. Just kidding!! I made a human!" The star then gave fans all the baby details, writing,

Sonny Sanford Rosenman was born on 7/27/17!! Everyone is so happy and healthy and we are home now. I'm going to try my very best to not be one of those moms whose feed is dominated by their baby but I can totally see how difficult it will be not to. I am beyond obsessed and in love and wish I could bottle this feeling for all of you out there. Check out the blog (link in bio) for more and welcome our little one to the world!! ❤️❤️❤️

Port has yet to post a picture of Sonny to Instagram, but she did include some adorable art reading "Welcome Baby Sonny". On her blog, she did include pics of her son. The post also assured fans that there would be plenty of baby updates in the near future. "I don’t care if this is sappy or trite and I don’t want to say that I love him more than anything ever because I love Timmy and my family. It’s not about loving him more than something else I love. It’s just awesome," the second half of the post read. "I can’t wait to watch him change and grow and take on my traits and Timmy’s. I could go on forever, so I’ll stop now, but get ready for a lot more Sonny talk coming soon."

Sonny isn't the first baby from the cast of The Hills. Port's co-star Lauren Conrad gave birth to her first child, Liam James, with husband William Tell in June. Audrina Patridge is also a mom, and had her first child in 2016. Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are currently expecting their first kid. Some of Port's fellow reality stars congratulated her on social media, including Pratt.

Port blogged candidly throughout her pregnancy on her website and for People, and it's a habit she clearly plans continue into the early days of motherhood. For now, though, Port is likely to just take some time to rest and enjoy being a new mom before returning to social media with the baby pics and parenting tips.
