Brace yourselves, Game of Thrones fans, because the title of the Season 7 finale has been released, and it could hint at big things for some of the show's major players. The Season 7 finale of Game of Thrones is titled "The Dragon and the Wolf" and fans have some ideas about which characters the title is referring to.

Since the three-headed dragon is the sigil of House Targaryen and the direwolf is the sigil of House Stark, it follows that the title is referring to a member from each of those houses. And the most obvious choice for these two characters would be Daenerys and Jon Snow. After all, the two have developed a blossoming romance, and Jon recently decided to bend the knee, solidifying their alliance. As two of the most powerful players in the game, it would make sense that the finale episode would focus on Dany and Jon, especially since they are heading into a meeting with Cersei as a united front.

But some fans have another theory about who the dragon and wolf might be. Jon and Dany aren't the first Starks and Targaryens to establish a connection: the title could also apply to Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, the original wolf and dragon couple and Jon's parents. And since Bran Stark knows the truth of Jon's parentage, maybe this title is hinting at the fact that everyone's favorite ex-bastard (turns out Jon's parents were married) might finally find out his true parentage.

Or, the title could refer to Jon himself. Since he's technically half Targaryen and half Stark, that would make him part dragon, part wolf. The finale title could hint at the fact that Jon embodies qualities of both of these animals and both of these houses, and will rise to the occasion somehow in the finale. Jon has been pretty heroic in the past — maybe discovering his heritage will light a new fire in his belly.

There's still yet another unpleasant possibility. Maybe this meeting with Cersei is an intricately laid trap, which Dany and Jon are naively walking into. Perhaps the episode refers to both the wolf and the dragon because Cersei will somehow defeat both the Mother of Dragons and the King in the North, wiping out her enemies in a single stroke and ensuring that the lion comes out on top. After she blew up the Sept of Baelor, I wouldn't put anything past her.

The only way to find out for sure who the title is referring to is to watch the finale on Sunday. But here's hoping the dragon and the wolf emerge victorious. Lions have ruled for long enough.
