It might only be November, but fashion lovers are already looking forward to the first Monday in May. That's when the Met Gala takes over New York City — and this year's could be the best one yet. According to Vogue, Rihanna is hosting the 2018 Met Gala. The star will be joined by Amal Clooney and Donnatella Versace, so you already know it's going to be epic.

Every year, Vogue editor Anna Wintour hand picks the team of co-chairs, and it's safe to say she nailed it this time around. After nailing her Met Gala look for three years in a row, it was about time for RiRi to have a say in the event. Versace has been to the event for a whopping 16 years in a row, and Clooney has only been once.

Just when you thought this night of fashion fun was as good as it could possibly get with these three hosts, the theme comes along. According to Vogue, the 2018 Met Gala is themed Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.

According to Vogue UK, the show will include 150 items, including "pieces by Coco Chanel, who was educated by nuns." Of course, it's also equally as exciting to see how the stars who attend the event will dress to theme.

In the past few years, Rihanna has been the one to watch when it comes to the Met Gala red carpet. It all started with her yellow, long-trained Guo Pei dress in 2015. You know, the one that broke the internet with all the memes.

“I’m so in love with this dress, but the train is insane!” Rihanna told Vanity Fair in 2015. “I can’t really walk in it without any help—but it’s so worth it. I love this dress so much. It’s Chinese couture, and it’s made by Guo Pei. It’s handmade by one Chinese woman and it took her two years to make. I found it online.”

She skipped the 2016 Met Gala to go to Coachella instead, but made up for it with her 2017 look that was so on theme. She stepped out in a floral Rei Kawakubo dress to pay tribute to the designer, who was the theme in 2017.

Fans are loving that Rihanna will be one of the co-hosts of the event. Fashion lovers are freaking out on Twitter, with some are already predicting what she will wear. One thing's for sure though — you won't know until she hits the red carpet.

It's the moment all fashion lovers have been waiting for to say the least.

This year will be EPIC.

You never know what Rihanna will wear next, so it wouldn't even surprise me if this prediction came true.

All of those years of nailing outfits is really starting to pay off.

Fans are doing the math, and the future looks very bright.

I'm just going to set this right here for you...

In an alternate universe this has already come true, I'm sure.

Honestly, there's never been a host that made more sense until this very moment.

Pure genius.

The Rihanna announcement comes after an epic year from the star. She's put out countless collections for Puma, launched her own beauty line, and even showed a collection at New York Fashion Week. If the hosting of the Met Gala goes half as well as fans think it will, 2018 will be the year of RiRi, too.

Now who's already counting down the days until the first Monday in May? I know I am.
