The Internet Comes To Life In This Super Bowl Ad

YouTube / Go Daddy

Are you ready for some football? Super Bowl 51 is happening this Sunday, Feb. 5 and I'd be totally lying if I said that I was only in it for the game. The 2017 Super Bowl commercial lineup is sure to be one for the books. Go Daddy pre-released its advertisement ahead of the action, introducing a human character symbolizing the internet. The snippet left me literally laughing out loud, and completely determined to find out who's the actor playing "the internet" in Go Daddy's Super Bowl ad.

After just a few seconds of web sleuthing on the mystery man, here's what I found: The internet is played by Adam Carpenter, a social media star known for his quirky online persona and captivating dance moves. It's interesting that I've never heard of him, seeing as Carpenter already boasts a whopping 52,000 followers on Instagram — and that's well before his Super Bowl commercial has had the chance to air in front of millions of viewers. I certainly hope he's prepared for that number to grow exponentially within a week's time. Seriously, how did I not know about this guy already?

In a 2014 interview with Nailed Magazine, Carpenter comically explained that the initial inspiration for his daily Instagram dance routine was that he wanted to find a wife. And now that he's most certainly grabbed the attention of many potential suitors through his online presence, I can all but guess that mission is close to accomplished with his newfound stardom continuing to trend upward.

There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that this internet celeb, who keeps people intrigued through his outlandish behavior, will continue to America's grab attention in this latest Go Daddy Super Bowl advertisement. The campaign, called "Good Morning," supports the promotion of their new service, GoCentral, which features a mobile-optimized website builder and reportedly helps subscribers gain online recognition, according to DailyCommercials.com.

The internet hosting company has held a slot in the Super Bowl's commercial line up since 2005, so it's great to see fresh talent make waves in their latest campaign.
