Harry Styles Skipped The 2017 BBMAs

One of my favorite parts of watching any award show is seeing all my favorite celebrities under the same roof, and that's what's happening at this year's Billboard Music Awards. Considering the fact that this is totally Harry Styles' year, I was expecting to see him there, too — a refreshing change of pace since he's been largely off the radar since One Direction went their separate ways. But sadly, on Sunday night, he was nowhere to be found. So, why isn't Harry Styles at the 2017 BBMAs? As it turns out, he's actually already busy — and it's with something way more fun than promoting his solo album.

As Just Jared pointed out, Styles is actually on vacation with friends in Los Cabos, Mexico. Earlier on Sunday, he was reportedly spotted hanging out in the sun with his pals, and it seems like he's having a blast. It makes sense that this is where he's spending his time off, rather than attend the awards show in Las Vegas, since he's slated to perform in Mexico later this week. Who doesn't want to mix work with play?

And if you ask me, we're all very lucky he's there, because it means we've been blessed with shirtless pics. No complaints here.

Besides, it's not that surprising he's not in attendance. Since Styles' new music just came out, he wasn't nominated for any awards this year. Why not take the time to vacation instead? He's been working hard lately, and he looks pretty relaxed in that pic.

And if you're disappointed he's not there, don't worry — that's all about to change. Considering the fact that Styles' album debuted at number one, I have a feeling he'll definitely be at the show next year, sweeping up all the awards. From this singer, I'd expect nothing less.
