This 'Vampire Diaries' Star Will Join 'Originals'

The end is finally here. The series finale of The Vampire Diaries is upon us and I’m still not ready for it all to be over. I’m still secretly hoping that Vampire Diaries characters will go to The Originals so we don’t have to say goodbye to everyone in Mystic Falls. So far, it has only been confirmed that one character from the Vampire Diaries will make a special appearance in The Originals Season 4. According to TVLine, Matt Davis aka Alaric Saltzman will guest star in the Originals eighth episode of the upcoming season. Don’t get me wrong, I am excited to see Alaric again, but I’m hoping that more characters will make a permanent move into the Mikaelson’s inner circle.

When we last left New Orleans, Klaus had sacrificed himself so that his siblings could live. I know, it’s probably the most selfless thing Klaus has ever done. Hayley and Hope left town with Freya, Rebekah, Elijah and Kol in coffins in the back of a moving truck searching for different cures. In the finale, Kol and Elijah are suffering fatal hybrid bites, Rebekah has a mark turning her into a ripper and Freya was poisoned. Freya did a spell putting them in a deep sleep, linking them all to Klaus, who’s alive, but has been stabbed with Papa Tunde's blade. We pick up the show five years into the future with Hayley on the road finding cures for the Mikaelsons.

So besides Alaric, who we’d love to see more of in The Originals, who should join the cast full-time?

Caroline Forbes

Came is gone and Klaus needs a new woman. I know that her and Stefan just got married, but I'm not 100 percent sure that he’ll live through the episode. So if Stefan dies, Caroline needs to go to New Orleans and be with Klaus. They were the best couple in the Vampire Diaries next to Elena and Damon.

Matt Donovan

If Matt can survive Mystic Falls this long as a human, I’m sure he can make it in New Orleans. Plus, it seems like there are no cops in New Orleans. He would have a job there, that’s for sure.

Tyler Lockwood

I know he’s technically dead, but somehow everyone always gets a second chance to survive in the Vampire Diaries. Maybe in the series finale, he will find his way back to the land of the living and join Marcel’s team in the fight against the Mikaelsons.

Bonnie Bennett

At the end of the last episode, it seemed like she died after getting out of the house, but there are pictures of her in the finale on the website, so I’m not sure we can count her out just quite yet. If we’ve learned anything about her, it’s that she always finds a way to come back from the dead or a prison world. It seems like Kat Graham is done with the series in general, so I’m not sure this is an option, but it would be nice to have her back for one episode at least.

Kai Parker

Am I the only one who can’t get enough of Kai? I think he’s one of the best villains of the whole series and would love to see him hanging around New Orleans with the Mikaelsons. Maybe we even find him a girlfriend who’s also a sociopath.

Katherine Pierce

I know that this is highly unlikely given the fact that Nina Dobrev cut ties with the show awhile ago to pursue new projects, but a short arc with Katherine Pierce would be great. We never did get to see Klaus kill her like he wanted to all those years ago. I assume that she will die in the Vampire Diaries series finale, but Katherine always finds a way to come back.

Jeremy Gilbert

It seems unlikely that Steven R. McQueen would head to The Originals since he left Vampire Diaries to do other shows like Chicago Fire, but we still thought he should be on the list. As a vampire hunter, New Orleans is in serious need of someone to take out Klaus’ sirelings.

Both Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder have made it clear that they’re closing the door on these characters, which is why they weren’t included in the list. R.I.P. Salvatore brothers.
