Where To Watch Will Arnett When You're Done With 'Flaked' Season 2

by Victoria McNally
Netflix

If you need someone to cast a lovable, arrogant, broken man-child, there’s only one actor you get to make it happen: Will Arnett, who’s so funny and charming that he manages to make you forget all his characters are total a-holes. In his latest series, Flaked, he plays a self-help guru named Chip who hides his alcoholism behind AA rhetoric and lies to all the people in his life about his predicament. Now that Season 2 is finally out, the question on every fan’s minds is whether Netflix’s Flaked will return for Season 3. Ah the curse of the marathon-worthy show; it's over before you know it.

Unfortunately, so far Netflix is mum on Flaked’s fate; the show has not yet been renewed for Season 3. However, that’s no reason to despair just yet. The first season, after all, debuted in March of 2016, and it wasn’t until July that the streaming service announced in a Facebook post that the show would return for a second season. Flaked also boasts an impressive cast and crew that Netflix seemingly loves to work with on other endeavors; Arnett (who, remember, did Netflix Live this year for April Fools) co-created the show along with Arrested Development producer Mitch Hurwitz, who’s currently bringing his flagship show back to Netflix. So while I can’t be sure that a third season Flaked is a done deal, I’d say the odds are pretty good.

In the meantime, Will Arnett’s incredible comedic talents cannot be hid under a bushel, and there are plenty of other TV shows and movies to check him out.

‘Bojack Horseman’

Netflix

Will Arnett plays the voice of Bojack Horseman, a washed-up family sitcom star in a world where talking animals and humans live alongside one another — and also work in Hollywood together. All three seasons of the show are available on Netflix.

‘The LEGO Batman Movie’

Arnett might not be anyone’s definitive Bruce Wayne (in my mind that badge belongs to Kevin Conroy of The Batman Animated Series, but no judgement against Batfleck fans), but despite all the jokes, his movie is probably the authentic Batman movie to date. Batman’s not a loner! He has a whole Batfamily! And also Voldemort, for some reason. You can’t stream it for free anywhere, but in my opinion it’s worth the $14.99 for a digital download, trust me.

‘Arrested Development’

Most people probably know Arnett from his starmaking role as Gob Bush on the critically acclaimed Arrested Development, where he singlehandedly elevated the prestige of all illusionists everywhere by performing tricks more terrible than all of them. Despite rumors that the show would leave Netflix this year, it’s still available to stream in its entirely, and a new season is on the way in 2018.

‘The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Todd Margaret’

David Cross might be the star of this IFC comedy series, but Will Arnett’s role as Todd’s arrogant supervisor add an extra dark and hilarious edge to all those poor decisions. All three seasons of the series are now available to stream on Netflix.

'30 Rock'

Arnett had a recurring role as Devon Banks, the overly-ambitious, super gay business nemesis of Jack Donaghey (Alec Baldwin). Of course he didn't appear on as many episodes as characters like Kenneth the Page or Grizz and Dotcom, but he lit up the screen with hilarity every time he showed up. You can look for him on Netflix — personally I recommend the Season 3 episode "Into The Crevasse" for Devon's fascinating views on cold pizza.

'A Series Of Unfortunate Events'

SPOILERS FOR THE END OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS SEASON 1 AHEAD

In a rare non-jerk role, it seems as though Arnett was playing the father of "orphans" Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire. However, by the end of the first seasons those assumptions about Will Arnett and Colbie Smulders, who plays his wife, are challenged pretty thoroughly. You can watch all of that first season on (you guessed it!) Netflix.

Given just how many Netflix projects Will Arnett currently stars in, I'd still hazard a guess that the service will strongly consider bringing Flaked back for Season 3. Until then, I'll just have to get my Arnett fix from other venues — maybe in Season 2 of Flaked first?
