The final episode of the current round of Game of Thrones is gearing up to descended upon us, and its title is already here in all of its enigmatic glory. On Tuesday, HBO announced that the upcoming season finale is called “The Dragon and the Wolf," a possible reference to two characters who met for the first time this season and have been making eyes at each other ever since. Let's just get right to the obvious question: Does the title mean Dany and Jon hook up during the Season 7 finale, or does it allude to something entirely different?

Here are a few items that are relevant to the inquiry at hand: Daenerys Targaryen is the Mother of Dragons; House Targaryen's sigil is a three-headed dragon; Jon Snow grew up with the Stark family; a direwolf is featured on House Stark’s sigil; some call Jon "the White Wolf"; no one knows this, but Dany is technically Jon's aunt; and Dany and Jon may or may not be crushing on each other. Bearing all of that in mind, could "The Dragon and the Wolf" be about a union betwixt the White Wolf and the Mother of Dragons?

Eh, maybe hold your horses, Jon and Dany shippers. Though the title seems like a possible allusion to something happening between the two (unknowingly related) royals, it could actually be a reference to just one person. And that person might be the King in the North.

Remember: Jon is the child of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. And a few episodes ago, Gilly found some records that suggested that Lyanna and Rhaegar might've been married after all. So, if they were indeed legally bound at the time of Jon's birth, it would make him a rightful heir to House Stark and House Targaryen; he would be both the Wolf and the Dragon.

Or maybe this title has nothing to do with Jon and Dany, but everything to do with the North's friendly neighborhood snow zombies. What if the White Walkers have an ice dragon and an ice wolf? And what if that ice dragon and that ice wolf take the Iron Throne? What if the humans can't stop the ice dragon and the ice wolf? And what if Season 8 is all about adjusting to life under the rule of an ice dragon and and ice wolf? And what if all of the humans are just like, "Yeah, this is fine. We'll make do."

You're right, Dany. You'd never let that happen.
