It's news that's sure to have you dance, dance, dancing. Your favorite former *NSYNCer Justin Timberlake will be performing at the 89th Academy Awards with his Oscar-nominated track "Can't Stop The Feeling" off the Trolls soundtrack. It feels as though it's been far too long since we've seen this beautiful man in action, so you may be wondering if Timberlake will go on tour in 2017. As of right now, there isn't anything formally announced on the singer's official website, which is pretty grim, but I wouldn't lose hope just yet. This performance seems could be the promise of things to come.

Right now, Timberlake is in the midst to a sort of musical comeback that kicked off with the release of "Can't Stop The Feeling" last May, and though there's been a slight lull in action since then, the tides might be about to turn. Around the initial release of the single, Timberlake announced that he was currently working on his fifth studio album, the follow-up to the second half of The 20/20 Experience. It's slated to have more of a Southern feel, picking up sounds from his native Tennessee in a fresh modern way. The problem is... that's all we know. That is to say, it's comforting to know he's been working on an album that's been under development for at least a year, and as such, could definitely be ready by now. But without even a title announced, let alone a release date, it's hard to say when we'll hear it. Today, tomorrow, next year?

And that's the real caveat, because although Timberlake is performing at the Oscars, he's doing it because it's expected of him as a Best Song nominee versus any publicity reasons (although that surely doesn't hurt). What really would help predict when he'd go on tour is an album release, and perhaps now, post-performance when people are still high-energy, would be a good time to announce a release date. If it happens shortly thereafter, then yes, it wouldn't be crazy to predict a summer tour or something in that ilk.

Ultimately, Timberlake embarking on a tour is reliant on a lot of hopes and ifs. Regardless of what happens, I'm looking forward to at least seeing him at the Oscars, and maybe that'll tide us over until he announces something bigger. Tune into his performance when the Academy Awards air on Feb. 26.
