The Official Fate of 'Fast & Furious 7'

Following the tragic death of star Paul Walker, The Huffington Post is reporting that production on the latest film in the franchise he starred in, Fast & Furious 7 , has been delayed this week as Universal Pictures figures out how to move forward with the project. Filming on the pic had already been underway at the time of Walker's death, and was set to resume this week in Atlanta following Thanksgiving weekend — but after the actor's untimely death, production was canceled on Monday and Tuesday as studio execs and director James Wan discussed what to do with the film.

This past weekend, The Hollywood Reporter reported that a conference call took place between Wan and studio execs on Sunday morning, and though they determined that the project would not be scrapped completely, it still has not been decided how the project will handle Walker's absence.

Before Walker's death, the film was scheduled for a July 2014 release, and The Huffington Post reports that most of the project has already been filmed — but not all of it. Additionally, given the way that Walker died — in a fiery car crash along with his good friend, Roger Rodas — the film will be expected to address the dangers of street racing.

As of now, there is reportedly no set date for production to resume on the film.
