Kate Spade Is Launching An Activewear Collection

by Julia Guerra

Attention yogis! The active wear stars have aligned and Kate Spade is launching an athleisure collection in Spring 2016. Try to contain your excitement for the next three seasons in the meantime, okay?

Trust me, ladies, I sympathize — 2016 cannot come soon enough. I will be crossing my fingers for an additional installment to the brand's Miss Adventure video series within the next few months. Perhaps this time the lovely Anna Kendrick will be decked out in polka dotted yoga pants and a cross-back tank top complete with the label's signature bow?

Collaborating with active apparel brand Beyond Yoga on the limited edition 16-piece collection, the line will feature peek-a-boo bras, halter-bow camis, leggings, and a neck-bow jacket.

The best part? It's affordable. With prices ranging from only $38-$81, you'll be able to look and feel good in your gym wear knowing you didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for a trendy sports bra (I'm looking at you, Victoria's Secret).

Of course, with all this #fitspo making its way across social media and women becoming valued gym membership holders, Kate Spade isn't the only high end retailer dabbling in active wear. Workout apparel is in high demand, and the fashion industry would like to make a profit. Check out three other apparel brands that have made the transition from strictly selling street wear to giving the active wear market a go.

1. Topshop

Zip Through Hoodie by Adidas StellaSport, $80.00, topshop.com

Zipped Ankle Leggings by Adidas StellaSport, $60.00, topshop.com

To kick of the new year right, Topshop added new sportswear to its collection in January of 2015, adding Stella McCartney x Adidas collection to their roster.

2. Fendi

Technical-Jersey Bi-Colour Jacket, $569.00, matchesfashion.com

Stripe-Side Leggings, $355.00, matchesfashion.com

Fendi active apparel is for the very stylish and extremely active, i.e. hit the slopes active. Throw on a pair of snow goggles and you're style status will make you eligible to skip the bunny slopes.

3. Lou & Grey

Spacedye Mesh Tank, $39.50, loft.com

Leggings, $59.50, loft.com

Lou & Grey launched back in 2014 (if it sounds familiar, you may have seen it at LOFT stores) which focuses around sporty, comfy, and trendy "lifewear" pieces. So if you don't consider yourself particularly active, you can easily mix and match these pieces for the #fitgirl illusion.
