A 360 Degree Virtual Reality Camera Is On Its Way

Guys, the future sounds great. Nokia announced its plan to release a 360 degree view camera soon. I mean, scientists have already developed technology to hopefully one day allow 360 degree virtual reality porn-watching capabilities. With responsive slash associated sex toys! Who needs human contact, anyway? This comes off as glib but I promise I'm being serious. I'm tired of humans. Nokia deciding to release this magical camera is something I can 100 percent get behind.

These mace-looking cameras are called OZO. Not all details have been released just yet, but Nokia's LA event on Tuesday revealed a few features such as eight synchronized shutter sensors to grab video and eight microphones for capturing audio. The OZO is also slated to power itself off a combination battery and SSD cartridge. Imagine throwing that bad boy in a bounce house to truly capture the sheer joy of the world's most perfect birthday party.

"OZO aims to advance the next wave of innovation in VR by putting powerful tools in the hands of professionals who will create amazing experiences for people around the world," says Nokia Technologies President Ramzi Haidamus. "We expect VR soon will radically enhance the way people communicate and connect to stories, entertainment, world events and each other."

It's an insanely cool idea, I'll admit. Can you imagine the news coverage potential with such technology? Wowee. Here's a look at the prototype:

Honestly, it looks like some sort of nightmare villain from a tripped-out '80s cartoon. (Hi. My childhood, for real.) But that kinda make it...even more exciting? Here's other folks taking it all in:

There's not much word on exactly when we can start planning to capture bounce house birthday parties in a realistic way. But we do know it is coming. And it should be great.
