Celebrities Live Tweet Fatal Plane Crash

Two people were injured and one person died in a plane crash at an Aspen, Colorado airport on Sunday. The small, private plane went up into flames after the crash and burned. The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that three people were onboard and of those who survived, one person has suffered serious injuries while the other has suffered minor injuries. The Aspen/Pitkin County Airport closed after the crash occurred at 12:30 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration. At this time, a cause for the plane crash is still to be determined and is currently under investigation, according to CNN. However, a few witnesses to the crash took to Twitter and Facebook to inform others of what happened. Likewise, a few celebrities who happened to be at the airport during this time got on social media to keep their followers updated and to express their condolences.

Kevin Nealon, an actor and comedian was at the airport at the time of the crash, stating on Twitter, “Horrible plane crash here at Aspen airport. Exploded into flames as it was landing. I think it was a private jet.” He continued to detail the events as they unfolded, noting that the airport had closed and that “Fire truck and ambulances were on the scene within minutes.”

Similarly, LeAnn Rimes also tweeted about the crash.
