The 2015 CDFA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awarded 3 Winners

It's official: the Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue have released the winners and losers of this year's CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, and — well, actually, I lied, because there are no losers. In a break with tradition, the selection committee awarded the win to Aurora James of Brother Vellies, a footwear line; Rio Uribe of Gypsy Sport, a streetwear line; and Jonathan Simkhai of the eponymous womenswear label. Each of the winners will receive the top prize: a yearlong mentorship with an industry vet, sweetened with a cool $300,000 to invest in their respective labels.

On its eleventh year, the CDFA/Vogue Fashion Fund was created to support emerging American designers, and has traditionally selected one winner and two runners-up. Past winners include shoe designer Paul Andrew and Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School, a menswear line. Although designers must have an established brand and workforce to apply (you won't see any self-taught designers working in their basements a la Project Runway in this competition), the program draws innovation and new ideas. Celebs and guests in attendance were dressed to impress emerging talent, so let's look to some of the outfits for an idea of what to expect on the shelves next season.

1. Karlie Kloss

Kloss rocked the midi skirt trend, but in with a fun teal vertical print.

2. Lorde

Lorde attended in her trademark black, but opted for an on trend sheer tunic and wide leg pant.

3. Zendaya

Big prints from the 80's and 90's continue to make a resurgence, and Zendaya pulled them off with aplomb.

4. Amanda Seyfried

Icy blues and whites always look fantastic on Seyfriend's complexion, and this was no exception.

5. Demi Moore

I don't know about you, but this dress is everything and I want it on my body.

6. Constance Jablonski

I'm loving the bold color of this dress and the plunging neckline. Jablonski killed it in a drop-waisted silhouette.

7. Imaan Hammam

Hammam looks gorgeous and 15 feet tall in this long gown with vertical striping. Seems to me like a better alternative to heels.
