6 Startlingly Similar Bernie Sanders Look-Alikes

by Lauren Holter

Former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin let America in on a little secret — she finds Bernie Sanders amusing. In an interview with CBS News, Palin said: "He really does remind me of one of my uncles. He's like the uncle who maybe lives in your attic and ... comes down once in a while in order to entertain at a party. So, I get a kick out of him, because he's candid, right?" The real question here is: Does Palin have a hermit uncle living in her attic? But, yes, Sanders has captivated many Americans with his blunt comments on Wall Street, racism, and Hillary Clinton's e-mails. Aside from the kooky old man apparently living in Palin's attic, there are a lot of Bernie Sanders lookalikes who remind me of the liberal senator.

It's not hard to find people that look like Sanders — there are plenty of balding, white-haired white men in the world. However, there are quite a few people, both dead and alive, that look remarkably similar to the Democratic presidential candidate. If only they all had his New England accent too.

Here are six Sanders lookalikes that might cause you to do a double take.

Martin Van Buren

If Sanders grows out his side burns to match Martin Van Buren's magnificent chops, America could have two identical presidents 180 years apart. Don't worry, I've already begun drafting a petition urging Sanders to do so.

Doc

Dr. Emmett Brown or "Doc" from Back to the Future is essentially Sanders with longer hair. Doc was always interested in the presidency, asking Marty: "Tell me, future boy, who's president of the United States in 1985?" The actor who played Doc, Christopher Lloyd, met Sanders when they both appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on "Back to the Future Day" Oct. 21 and the resemblance was uncanny.

Larry David

Larry David, the co-creator of Seinfeld, proved he was Sanders' ultimate doppelgänger when he played the politician on Saturday Night Live. He's even got the accent and hand gestures down.

Comedian Steven Martin definitely hasn't reached Sanders' level of balding yet, but the glasses, white hair, and outstretched arms make them look very similar.

Warren Buffet can also join the ranks of Sanders lookalikes, especially if he messed up his hair a bit. Although the business magnate has praised Sanders, he endorsed Hillary Clinton for president over his lookalike candidate.

Bernie Baby

Last but certainly not least, Sanders' youngest twin is really feeling the Bern.
