You know that old saying "If you blink, you might miss it?" That usually refers to something that happens super quickly. Well, if you weren't paying close enough attention, you may not have noticed that Selena Gomez had hazel eyes at the AMAs. It was a temporary change to her look, of course!
While so many celebs change up their hair based on their style whims, this normally brown-eyed girl has been experimenting with different colored eyes lately, courtesy of contact lenses. While the singer and actress made a splash with her sequined red frock and her mega long, super glossy locks at the event, her eyes were pretty amazing, too.
Gomez also rocked a crimson smoky eye look, with winged, buffed eye shadow extended on the outer corners, which matched the hue of her sparkly dress. Having lighter, hazel eyes added some extra oomph to her look and her peepers stood out because they were framed by her majorly curled lashes.
Earlier this month, Gomez rocked blue-gray contacts at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which totally changed her look, since her eyes offered a stark contrast to her raven-colored hair.
On the same tip, Gomez's fellow black-haired starlet Kylie Jenner changes her eye color with contacts on the semi regular.

It was subtle but it was definitely noticeable.
Gomez's normally super dark eyes were still framed by dark brows, lashes, and shadow. Since her eyes were surrounded by dark colors, the dose of lightness was obvious.

Gomez's blue-gray eyes were much more dramatic and way less subtle than her hazel peepers. That's due to the fact that she went from really dark brown to really light blue.
The lighter eyes were such a contrast to her shiny mane of strands. The contacts really opened up her face.
The dark hair and light eyes combo is always sultry and exotic and Gomez nailed it.
Seriously, from some angles, the blue x gray eyes made her look like someone else altogether. I look at the photo and think, "Oh yeah, that's Selena Gomez... but different."
