Since Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks have received sort of a resurgence in Hollywood thanks to American Horror Story: Coven, is nice to see them in the news more often — especially for good reasons like this. According to E!, the legendary rock band is gaining a new member in the form of an old member: Christine McVie is rejoining Fleetwood Mac after she left the band in 1998 in favor of living a "quiet life" on the English countryside.
McVie was, of course, a crucial part of the band as they churned out some of their biggest hits: She's actually responsible for co-writing songs like "Don't Stop," and "Little Lies."
Rumors of a return were first sparked back in November of last year, when McVie told The Guardian that she'd want to rejoin the band if they would ask her to: "I like being with the band, the whole idea of playing music with them. I miss them all. If they were to ask me I would probably be very delighted ... but it hasn't happened so we'll have to wait and see."
Nicks responded in December: "I think she's probably been asked five million times to come back to the band, by all of us. By every one one of us. And she has said, in no uncertain terms, 'No. No. Absolutely not. No way,'...If Chris wants to come back to the band, I said to her, 'It's your band. I don't really think you have to ask. Because it's your band. McVie. Fleetwood Mac-vie? So, it all depends, Chris, on you. How you feel. Do you want to take this on again?"
Along with McVie's return, the band reportedly hopes to "make an announcement about a possible tour for the full tilt Macsters some time in 2014."
