Is This The Secret To Better Sex?

by Nathalie O'Neill

In case you didn't already think that rich people have all the fun, it turns out that women who have more money also have better sex. What! How is that even fair. This comes from an analysis of the 2009 Spanish National Sexual Health Survey. Investigators at the Barcelona Public Health Agency (ASPB) analyzed the data from the 9,850 interviews conducted for the survey and found that women with higher socioeconomic status report greater sexual satisfaction.

"People of a lower socioeconomic status claim to be less satisfied sexually, which especially applies to women, who seem to be more influenced by these factors," said Dolores Ruiz, the main author of the study.

This dissatisfaction has little to do with skills between the sheets. Instead, the authors of the study found that lower socioeconomic classes tended to have more instances of unprotected sex as well as sexual abuse. "It's important to bear in mind that these women also might have more problems when it comes to contacting the various organizations that can provide help for them," noted Ruiz.

People with higher socioeconomic status also tend to be more aware of their needs and have more freedom to develop their sexuality, say the ASPB researchers.

All in all, the Spanish don't fare too badly in the bedroom. The 2009 survey found that 90 percent of men and women were very satisfied or quite satisfied with their sex life in general, while 95 percent were satisfied with the sexual relations they had had during the previous year. We'll have what the Spanish are having.
