'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' Is Back

by Emily Lackey

It’s been 13 years since Toula Portokalos walked into our lives with those glasses and house coat on her way to work in her family’s Greek restaurant, but the star of My Big Fat Greek Wedding is back. And, this time, she’s bringing the whole family with her. In the latest poster for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 , the whole Portokalos family is in full effect, pushing against the life that Toula and Ian (played by John Corbett) have built for themselves. And I’m happy to report that, by the looks of this poster, the family is bigger and better than ever before.

The first bit of good news for fans of the Portokalos family: The gang is all back. The aunts, the uncles, the cousins — even Joey Fatone in all of his *NSYNC glory. It’s not often that sequels are able to get a good majority of the cast back in acting action, but thankfully, this was not the case for this film.

The other thing making this family even bigger? Toula and Ian’s young daughter, Paris. Played by Elana Kampouris, Paris looks surprisingly like her mother in the first movie — and it’s clear from the poster that Toula has passed on some of her old habits to her daughter.

The other thing making this family bigger are some added stars: The sequel also stars John Stamos and Rita Wilson, who are sure to make this wedding even more over-the-top.

And while you may be thinking that the movie has to do with Toula’s daughter getting married, you can rest easy that she is way too young for that. Instead, the movie revolves around Toula’s parents, Maria and Kostas, who learn after decades of marriage that they were never legally married. So, of course, they make moves to rectify that.

You better believe that wedding is going to be enormous. And involve plenty of Windex.

I’m just glad to see that we can count on more of the same with this enormous family. And I can’t wait to see how Paris, Toula’s daughter, fits into all of it. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
