Fox News' Response To Trump Is Insanely Sarcastic

Leading GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump gave the American public an interesting show last week when he invited former Alaska governor Sarah Palin up on stage at a campaign rally to very enthusiastically endorse him for president. And how would America recognize its beloved Donald if he didn't have something up his sleeve for only a few days later? With only two days to go until the next Republican primary debate, being hosted this time around by FOX News, the controversial candidate's campaign manager announced Trump would not participate in Thursday's event. This was after, of course, Trump polled his Twitter and Instagram followers for their thoughts on his attending the debate. FOX News' response to Donald Trump and his shenanigans, however, shows the network isn't afraid to get cheeky.

The network has released several statements since Trump's initial suggestion of playing hooky from the GOP debate. The one that truly takes the cake, however, comes from an unnamed FOX News spokesperson. This person chose to lay on the sarcasm like a thick layer of sweet, sassy frosting:

We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.

The other statements released by FOX are not quite as bold, but they still capture the network's overall disapproval with Trump's last-minute take-back on the debate RSVP. Trump hasn't hid his reasoning for considering a skip on the Thursday round, citing moderator Megyn Kelly's "bias" against the GOP candidate and her resultant inability to be fair during the event. A spokesperson addressed the matter of Kelly's moderating the debate with this response of mid-level sass:

Sooner or later Donald Trump, even if he’s president, is going to have to learn that he doesn’t get to pick the journalists—we’re very surprised he’s willing to show that much fear about being questioned by Megyn Kelly.

Even FOX News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes got in on the verbal scuffle, making super clear FOX's support for Kelly, saying,

Megyn Kelly is an excellent journalist and the entire network stands behind her — she will absolutely be on the debate stage on Thursday night.

Kelly waited until the Thursday night airing of her show, The Kelly File, to make known her feelings on the matter. The TV host didn't have to express her opinion totally in words, though.

Trump knew exactly how to handle the network's ultimate sarcastic response, though, referring to the brash FOX statement as a "wise guy press release" that was "written by a child."

The GOP candidate seems to be quite familiar with social media status updates written by youths, since a good sampling of his own tweets appear to have been written by a disgruntled teenager.
