Cam Newton's Golden MVP Shoes Are Excellent

by Kali Borovic

Proving that he's just as talented as he is fashionable, Cam Newton wore gold MTV cleats while practicing for the Super Bowl game to celebrate his award. The Carolina Panthers quarterback was named NFL MVP at the NFL Honors, and obviously he's a little bit excited about the title. Because if you're the best of the year, your outfit might as well reflect it.

While he switched to the classic team colored shoes for the big game, Newton went above and beyond before the big game started. The quarterback sported bright gold Under Armour shoes with "MVP" in bold letters for what might be the best look on the field. That wasn't it, either. He completed the look with matching gold and white Under Armour socks peeking out of the statement shoe. They might not have been a perfect match with his outfit, but it was fabulous nonetheless.

I can't deny that Lady Gaga's David Bowie tribute shoes were the number one shoe of the Super Bowl, but Newton's were a close second. They were subtle enough not to be too show-y while still a great way to show some personal style. It looks like even athletes like to celebrate their life accomplishments by buying a fancy pair of shoes.

This wasn't the only way Newton has brought some of his style to the big game. He walked into warm-ups wearing a gold Superman t-shirt that matched his new cleats perfectly. The player is known for doing a Superman celebration whenever he scores, so it only makes sense that the super player would rock the super hero attire.

The man's got style! He even sported matching gold, black, and white Super Bowl 50 headphones to get in the game. Talk about outfit coordination.

Of course, he swapped the head-to-toe black out for his blue and white team colors, but the shoes stuck around. You can spot him on the field right away from his flashy feet.

Love it!
