The fact that today is National Pizza Day — an unsuspecting Tuesday — is almost too much for my faint heart to bear. Honestly, there are a few tears of joy trickling down my face as I type this. I'll be honest, there are many different things I love in this world, including all of those cliché things you're essentially genetically programmed to love — like my husband, my family, and my scruffy little terrier mutt. But, coming in at the top of that list? Well, it's pizza.

I could eat pizza for every meal if it was socially acceptable. I mean, have you ever had a breakfast pizza? They're delicious. And, now that I think about it, I actually did have pizza four different days last week. Don't judge me — it was worth it.

Plus, when you take a second to think about it, pizza is one of those rare dishes that allows you to combine nearly every element of the food pyramid onto one delicious, flaky crust.
