How To Easily Remove The Kylie Lip Kit

by Augusta Statz

To get the full-on Kylie Jenner effect, you need long-lasting lipstick, and that’s exactly what she’s delivered with her Lip Kits. But, because they’re made to last does that mean they can be tricky to remove? Well, yes, a little bit! You can’t exactly have long wear time and super easy removal at the same time. Find out the best ways to remove the Kylie Lip Kit, because when it’s time to actually take it off of your lipstick, there’s a little bit of a strategy involved.

Beauty bloggers who have reviewed the Lip Kits seem to be using a makeup wipe to get it off, but that seems to be a little harsh, with all of the tugging that’s involved to remove the color. I used a two-step method to remove my Mary Jo K, which involved a makeup removing oil and Glossier’s Milky Jelly, that’s meant to cleanse as well as remove makeup. This process worked well for me, and was relatively gentle on my pout.

I’d recommend using products that won’t be harsh on your skin because there are plenty of makeup removers out there that are designed for removing pesky lipstick colors. See seven products that should do the trick of taking away any remaining lip color from your Lip Kit. They can be great on their own, or be even more effective when combined.

1. Makeup Wipes

L'Oreal Paris Makeup Removing Towelettes, $4, Amazon

Makeup removing wipes seem like a great first method of attack. Remove most of the color, and then go in with a more gentle means to remove any remaining lipstick residue.

2. Makeup Removing Liquid

Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover, $6, Amazon

I know this says it's eye makeup remover, but I personally use this for my eyes, brows and lips. Simply apply this liquid to a cotton ball and dab over your lips for gentle color removal.

3. Glossier Face Wash

Milky Jelly Cleanser, $18, Glossier

A face wash with a makeup removing aspect is a great follow-up to your first method of attack when it comes to removing your Lip Kit.

4. Pond’s Cold Cream

Pond's Cold Cream Cleanser, $5, Amazon

This product is a personal favorite of Jenner's, so it's bound to be effective.

5. Makeup Removing Q-Tips

Dinoplatz Magic Wand, $13, Amazon

These q-tips release a liquid that's made for removing eye and lip makeup, so you can go in and gently rub away any left-behind lipstick.

6. Lip Wipes

Bite Lush Lip Wipes, $12, Sephora

Formulated especially to nourish lips while removing lipstick, these seem like the best of both worlds when it comes to gently wiping away any remaining color.

7. Lip Oil

Twilight Lip Oil, $12, Birch Box

This lip oil claims to condition lips and remove color in just one swipe. Sounds like it's worth a try, if you ask me.

Try these removing methods for not only removing your Lip Kits, but any of your lip kits. It's important to be kind to that pout, so remember, the more gentle you can be, the better.
