Jordan Smith's Been Busy Since Winning 'The Voice'

by Alexandra Watt

Those of us who are in committed relationships with the television on Monday nights are going to find ourselves in a quandary: Do we continue watching the relationship drama unfold on The Bachelor, or do we tune in to watch those chairs spin around to new talent on the premiere of The Voice? The highly addicting singing competition is back on Feb. 29, and I, for one, am more than ready to see and hear the fresh crop of talented performers, but what I'm really wondering is what Jordan Smith, The Voice Season 9 winner, is doing now since sweeping the nation last season.

What has become of the the man from Adam Levine's team that the Maroon 5 singer dubbed "the most important person we've ever had on the show" according to Slate? Smith captured the nation's heart with his amazing cover of Sia's "Chandelier" during the Blind Audition, which went on to top the charts on iTunes. Smith then went on to conquer the stage with his vocally-challenging, heart-rending covers of songs like Adele's "Fire to The Rain" and Beyonce's "Halo," and it was no surprise to anyone when he eventually took home to the grand prize. The 22-year-old from Harlan, Kentucky, seems to be having an extremely successful span of months following his Voice victory, judging by social media posts. Let's check in on one of the fan-favorite winners of The Voice.

He's Been Embracing His Roots

Smith has a soft spot for his hometown, and it seems the town feels the same! It's always great to see people staying true to themselves despite the trappings of being famous!

He's Been Making Public Appearances

From the talk show circuit to performing the national anthem at hugely popular sporting events around the country, Smith has not slowed down as far as getting himself out there is concerned. And, we don't want him to! #TeamJordan

He Has Been Promoting His Album

In addition to releasing his compilation album from his time competing on The Voice, Smith also put out his debut album called "Something Beautiful." If you take a listen to the songs which he previews on his Instagram and his Twitter, I'm sure you'll agree with the title.

He Got Engaged

Talk about a great year! Smith decided to put a ring on his girlfriend's finger just before the New Year. Adorable!

He Has Been Spending Time With Family

Hands up if you wish Smith was your uncle. Monster truck rallies are the coolest, especially with awesome company. Also, how cute is that post celebrating his grandparents' 58th anniversary? It's giving me some serious #longtermrelationshipgoals.

He Has Been Making Music Videos

You know you've really made it once you're making your own music videos! Though he has released a lyric video for his new tracks, I can't wait to see the end result of this!

It's definitely safe to say that Smith is doing just fine, thank you. And, I can't wait for Monday's premiere of The Voice and a whole new set of talented people to root for.
