Maye Got The Surprise Of A Lifetime On 'The Voice'

by Jessica Molinari

If you weren't paying attention to The Voice already, you better be now. Christina Aguilera treated The Voice fans to the best treat ever when she unexpectedly took the stage to perform with Season 10 contestant Joe Maye. Seriously, could you imagine being Maye right now? Not only did he get two chairs to turn — he got to sing "Put A Spell On You" with Queen Aguilera herself. After the two slayed their impromptu performance, Maye obviously chose to join Aguilera's team. And if their duet showed us anything, it's that these two will be the team to beat.

Though this isn't Maye's first visit to The Voice stage, it's certainly his most exciting. The 24-year-old auditioned for the competition last season, but failed to get a chair to turn. Ironically enough, Aguilera was not a coach on Season 9. Clearly, these two were meant to be. It was obvious in Maye's performance that he came back for redemption — and boy, did he get it. His mysteriously powerful audition quickly won over Aguilera and, well, the rest is history.

Maye is just the latest powerhouse to join Team Christina. The returning on-again, off-again coach has proved that she, too, is back for redemption — and this may be her season to get it. Aguilera is stocking up her team with the best of the best and putting herself in a great position to earn herself the title of "First Winning Female Coach" in The Voice history. With Maye on her team, Aguilera has certainly increased her chances of earning that title.

All I know is that I hope these two make it to the end together, because the world needs to hear another Maye/Aguilera duet.
