Gwyneth's Goop Party Brings Together Strong Women

Despite the frequency in which feuds pop up in headlines, celebrities have shown they're so much stronger when they join together. Especially when it comes to Hollywood's leading ladies. Over the weekend, Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated Goop's beauty line by bringing together an awesome group of women. According to Us Weekly, the gathering was focused on working mothers and creativity. Could there possibly be a better combination? I think not. Some of the stars were ones I already knew were pals with Paltrow, but there were a few pleasant surprises. The guest list included Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Richie, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Rachel Zoe, and more. Seeing those talented women together serves as a prime example of the power of female friendship.

As Barrymore told Bustle last fall, she never sees fellow women as competition. Instead, the actor said, "There’s enough to go around for everyone. I am here as a champion of [the idea that] we have to support each other." This hangout proves that same message. Paltrow has been vocal about female empowerment as well, telling Harper's Bazaar in February 2015,

Women really need to examine why they’re so vitriolic to other women; why they want to twist words, why they want to read about someone else in a negative light and why that feels good to them... But I also know a huge tribe of women who are loving and supportive of other women, in ways that are completely transformative.

She's right —in a world where sometimes comparisons can wreak havoc or pit women against each other, it's nice to see these ones come together for a common cause. It's especially refreshing, following what went down last week after Kim Kardashian posted a naked selfie and critics (including fellow celebrities) came out of the woodwork in full force.

Focusing on the positives, here's a round-up of photos from the star-studded, girl power-filled event. While they were promoting Goop's beauty products, they also spread an important message of solidarity.

Reese, Gwyn, & Jenni

Paltrow dubs Jenni Konner (of Girls and Lenny Letter) and Witherspoon "two more inspirational women I am so lucky to love."

Rachel & Nicole

She may have starred on a reality series as Paris Hilton's BFF, but Richie clearly has a friend in Zoe.

The Party Host

Konner reminds everyone why they really got together — to honor Paltrow's accomplishments as both a businesswoman and mother.

The Whole Crew

Or at least a solid chunk of it. So many successful people in one picture!

Flower Crowns

Not only are these talented women, but they're stylish too. I have serious flower crown envy.

Even though these women were there to support Paltrow, the captions make it clear they're proud of one another's successes as well. And that in itself is worth celebrating.
