The One Reason You Should Travel More

by Michelle Regalado

Traveling to another city or country is one of the most rewarding experiences anyone can have. You meet new people, learn new things, and (hopefully) come away with a better understanding of a different place and culture. But it can also be more than just a great learning experience. According to a new study from the UK, traveling can improve your overall health and actually make you feel younger.

Expedia recently surveyed more than 30 million travelers who had taken a vacation in the last year. Per Uproxx, 81 percent of those polled said they felt better after their travels. That shouldn't come as a huge shock. After all, who doesn't feel better after a vacay, whether it’s a quick weekend trip or a weeks-long event?

Perhaps more surprisingly, the study concluded that going on vacation can also lead to more sex, and feeling younger and more confident. Why is this? Well, for one thing, having more free time deceases your stress and makes you feel more relaxed. That happier attitude can subsequently put you in a sexier mood.

Case in point? More than one million of the study respondents said that traveling increased their sex drive. That makes perfect sense, as being on vacation means you have more opportunity to act on those impulses, as well as to exercise and indulge in other healthy activities.

As if that wasn't enough, pollers said travel also made them feel more creative — which makes sense, as taking in a new place can be both inspiring and mentally stimulating.

All of this basically just proves what we already suspected: that travel is not only fun and educational, but also mentally and even physically beneficial. So the next time you're feeling anxious, depressed, or just plain ol' stuck in a rut, grab your passport and go. It won't be long before you're feeling happier and healthier.
