9 Celebs Who Bought Meals For Their Fans

by Michelle McGahan

When I think of the amount of money I have spent on my favorite artists (concert tickets, merch, albums — not even including the cost of transportation to get me from show to show), I am probably single-handedly footing the bill for their kids' college tuitions. So it's always nice to hear stories of celebs giving back to their fans, doing things like paying for meals and picking up the bar tab when they can. It's a praise-worthy gesture that is not only a random act of kindness, but one that shows appreciation for the people who made them who they are in the first place. And when you're in the financial position to pay it forward like that, why not surprise your fans once in a while? It's exactly the type of story they'll remember (and tell) for years to come.

Fortunately, stars buying fans' meals is not a rarity in Hollywood, which certainly warms my little fangirl heart. Whether it's fast food (Chipotle is not just a fan favorite — it's also a celeb fave) or an entire meal, these celebs certainly know how to treat their fans right. And treating them right, well, it sometimes means treating them to food.

1. Harry Styles

In addition to this moment, Styles also once spent thousands on pizzas and handed them out to homeless people.

2. Taylor Swift

True story: Taylor Swift ran into a fan in Central Park (literally helped her from her rowboat) and gave the fan $90 to celebrate her birthday at Chipotle.

3. Adele

Some people get belligerent when they get drunk. Adele? She gets very, very generous, she revealed during her Carpool Karaoke session with James Corden, recalling a recent time when she bought a family's meal.

"I'm sitting in this restaurant for an hour on my own looking like such a loser, so I order a glass of wine and then I have another glass of wine, then I spot a family. I went over — I'm a bit drunk — I was like, 'Did you call my name earlier? [laughs] Sorry, I had my security and he was being a bit protective, whatever,'" the singer said. "Then I went, 'Did I hear it's your birthday? Let me get your meal for you.' So I paid for their meal!"

But that's not all.

"And then I had another glass of wine, and then my friend arrived and I had two more glasses of wine," she said. "...And then the next day, I'm in the park with my kid and I find this email address in my pocket of ANOTHER family from Nashville who obviously told me that [my show there] was sold out, so I managed to get them tickets to Nashville. That's what happens when I'm drunk."

4. Justin Bieber

According to TMZ, the Biebs was once eating in an NYC diner and footed the $200 bill for the policemen eating in the booth next to his. It's a generous gesture that he later repeated for the college students near a USC bar, allegedly buying every patron in the place a shot.

5. Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande treated her Canadian fans to tea and lunch during her Toronto Honeymoon tour stop in September 2015.

6. Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey doesn't just buy a meal for her fans — she becomes legit friends with them.

"In California and London I’m getting recognized more and more. It's usually really friendly exchanges — someone will just say, ‘Is it you?’ And I usually just say, ‘Yes,'" she told the Sun . "Then we just end up talking and being friends. I’ve ended up being friends with lots of fans I’ve met. I’ve had dinners and stuff like that in New York. It’s sweet though."

7. Big Sean

Big Sean's another celeb who gives the Chipotle lovers what they want, buying meals for fans at the Mexican eatery.

8. T.I.

And here is video evidence of T.I. buying fans' movie tickets and snacks at a showing of his 2010 movie Takers.

9. Chad Ochocinco

The football star was true to his word, buying meals for more than 200 of his Twitter followers at Harlem restaurant Sylvia's. Yum!

Remember, folks: Next time you're feeling hungry, there may very well be a kind-hearted celeb in the distance just waiting to pay for your meal. Noms away!
