The MTV Movie Awards Needed J.Law

by Kayla Hawkins

The MTV Movie Awards always feature a good collection of stars ready to poke some fun at themselves. But there's one celeb that can instantly transform any awards show into a good time: J.Law, your (and my) imaginary BFF. But why wasn't Jennifer Lawrence at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards, which were taped on Saturday night? When the awards show red carpet began, there was no sign of the star, and unfortunately she wasn't around to be Hollywood's most glamorous klutz and add another memorable, relatable moment to the MTV Movie Awards.

Nominated for Best Female Performance for Joy, Best Action Performance and Best Hero for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part Two, Lawrence had a chance of receiving three popcorn trophies at the show, which airs on Sunday night,, and she won one, for Best Hero. But with such a busy schedule, it's too bad that Lawrence didn't have time to come out and pick up her award in person, especially considering that her most iconic character, Katniss Everdeen, was the reason for her honor.

But what was Lawrence doing instead, if she couldn't make it to the awards show? Well, J.Law was seen in New York City at the end of March, where she made appearances on several late night shows, and posing on the cover of a few magazine spreads, where she's made waves by oversharing some hilarious stories from her A-list life (Emma Stone makes a great barf buddy, apparently). But as for what Lawrence is up to right now? She's about to join the rest of her fellow mutants on the X-Men: Apocalypse press tour in advance of the film's May release date. So there's going to be plenty of fun J.Law moments to come, even if not at the MTV Movie Awards.
