Beyoncé's Tour Has One Important Theme

by Nicole Pomarico

For just about as long as Beyoncé has existed in the entertainment world, she has had this special, magical power that makes you feel like you can do anything when you listen to her music. And after the release of Lemonade over the weekend, it's become clear that her power is only getting stronger. On Wednesday night, Beyoncè kicked off her latest world tour in Miami, and from the start, it immediately seemed like the theme of the night wasn't going to be betrayal, like we saw in her HBO special. Nope, this time the narrative has been twisted, and I love it. Beyoncé's opening songs on the Formation tour are all about female empowerment instead.

So how did she accomplish this? She combined the perfect amount of her most motivating old and new songs. The opening included "Formation," "Sorry," "Flawless," and "Who Run The World" — aka the perfect playlist anytime you're in need of a little boost, whether you're going through a breakup or just trying to get through your workday. The debates surrounding whether or not Jay Z actually cheated or who Becky is might still be standing, but above all, Beyoncé stands behind her message of making women feel like they can do the impossible, and it's amazing to see.

Need more proof? Here's a video. If you need me, I'll be over here, dying of FOMO.

Bustle has reached out to reps for Beyoncé and Jay Z regarding the cheating rumors, but has not yet heard back.
