The Best Jokes From Obama's Speech

by Amée LaTour

There's no denying that President Barack Obama was, as usual, on fire during the White House Correspondents' dinner Saturday night. He warmed up the crowd for feature entertainer Larry Wilmore, and gave him a tough act to follow. For his last time taking the stage at the red carpet event as president, Obama ended this run on a powerful note.

From fellow politicians to the media, nobody was immune from a good jabbing from the Commander-in-Chief.

Check out Obama's best jokes below, because trust me, there were plenty of them.

Tired First Lady

Someone jumped the White House fence. But we found her, and brought Michelle back home.

A Little Too Casual

Obama pointed out that people are getting soft on him in his last year.

Last week, Prince George showed up to our meeting in his bathrobe. That was a slap in the face.

CNN Dig

Jake Tapper left journalism to join CNN.

Ouch.

So High

Regarding his rising poll numbers:

Last time I was this high, I was trying to decide on my major.

Sarcasm Alert!

To Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus:

Congratulations on all your success. The Republican party, the nomination process. It’s all going great. Keep it up.

Failed Outreach

On Secretary Hillary Clinton's efforts to appeal to youth:

[It's] a little like your relative who just signed up for Facebook. "Dear America, did you get my poke?"

Commie Reference

I am hurt, Bernie, that you've been distancing yourself from me. That's just not something you do to your comrade.

Stats, Stats, Stats

Bernie Sanders, you look like a million bucks. Or, to put it in terms you'll understand, you look like 37,000 donations of $27 each.

On Trump's Absence

Is he at home eating a Trump Steak, tweeting out insults to Angela Merkel?

Poor Gov. John Kasich

Some candidates aren't polling high enough to qualify for their own joke tonight.

Trump's Non-Existent Political Experience

He has spent years meeting with leaders from around the world: Miss Sweden, Miss Argentina, Miss Azerbaijan.

Brokered Convention Slam

Guests were asked to check whether they wanted steak or fish, but instead, a whole bunch of you wrote in "Paul Ryan."

Joke About A Joke

Referring to Clinton's recent racial gaffe with New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, who joked about "CP time":

I was running on C.P.T., which stands for "jokes that white people should not make."

What's In A Name?

In reference to Senator Ted Cruz calling a basketball hoop a "ring," he said:

But sure, I'm the foreign one.

(Remember when Obama was from Kenya?)

Thanks for the laughs, Mr. President.
