Dorinda Was Raking In Dough Before 'RHONY'

by Marenah Dobin

One of the reasons that I love watching Real Housewives shows is because the women are so wealthy. Sure, they have a lot of the same problems that you and I do, but they also have to choose which vacation home to summer at, so they are not always the most relatable people. Nevertheless, I enjoy watching this all play out on my television screen. Not only that, but I wonder how these women are so rich. What do they do? For example, Real Housewives of New York City star Dorinda Medley — how much is Dorinda worth? Sure, she is a famous reality star ever since she signed on to be a part of RHONY, but how did she get to that point? As far as I can tell, being on the show is the only "job" that she has these days.

If I didn't see Dorinda's amazing wardrobe or her Berkshires mansion, I wouldn't have really known that Dorinda was super wealthy — well, aside from being on a reality show about rich women. It's just that Dorinda is very down to earth. She doesn't brag about the amount of money that she has, how she has that cash, or how she spends it, but it is so obvious that she has ample funds at her disposal. No matter how classy she is by not boasting about her wealth, I still want to know all about it.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Dorinda Medley reportedly has a net worth of $20 million. That would be an awful lot of money, but after doing some snooping around, the number does seem to make sense. Dorinda had a pretty busy and successful life before we got to know her as a cast member on RHONY.

Dorinda's official biography on the Bravo website states that she started her career at the Liz Claiborne showrooms in New York City. Bravo also explains that after she moved to London with her first husband, she started her own cashmere company called DCL cashmere. Her business did very well for her and she had high-profile clients like Princess Diana and Joan Collins. She had the company for 10 years before she sold it and moved back to the United States.

Once Dorinda was back in the United States, she worked as real estate broker and through that she met her second husband, Richard Medley, when she sold him a townhouse, according to her Bravo bio.

Sadly, Dorinda's husband passed away in 2011. I hate to be crass and say this, but since we are talking about her net worth, he was a hedge fund advisor, so I have to assume that Dorinda inherited some money after his death.

Of course, we can't forget that Dorinda is now a reality TV star. This means that she gets paid for being on the show, earns money for promotional appearances, and can even rake in cash with some shameless Instagram endorsements. Being a part of RHONY has given her a lot of opportunities to make her net worth even bigger.

Dorinda has had a variety of experiences throughout her life. She worked very had and was able to find success. It's no wonder that she has an estimated net worth of $20 million.
