6 Design and Decor Trends We're So Tired Of Seeing On Pinterest

I'm all for staying up to date on style and design trends. Hell, I have a huge gallery wall in my apartment and I've been known to clutter my windowsills with more than a few cute little succulents. Still, there are a few trendy touches that are about to reach critical mass. No matter how clean and modern they seem today, when we look back at the two-thousand teens (or whatever it is we're calling this decade), chances are that color-coded bookshelves and Stickygram magnets are going to look as dated as shag rugs and lava lamps. Here are six design and decor trends I'd be totally fine with never seeing again.

Over It

I'm all for staying up to date on style and design trends. Hell, I have a huge gallery wall in my apartment and I've been known to clutter my windowsills with more than a few cute little succulents. Still, there are a few trendy touches that are about to reach critical mass. No matter how clean and modern they seem today, when we look back at the two-thousand teens (or whatever it is we're calling this decade), chances are that color-coded bookshelves and Stickygram magnets are going to look as dated as shag rugs and lava lamps. Here are six design and decor trends I'd be totally fine with never seeing again.

Chevron

It's bold, it's graphic, and it's so.freaking.overplayed.

Mustaches

In my opinion, quirky-cute mustache stuff has been overdone for like five years, but people still keep churning it out. Why? No seriously...why? Photo: We Heart It

Faux Animal Heads

Unless you shot and taxidermied it yourself, please no. Actually, please no if you shot and taxidermied it yourself, too.

Arrow Print

What's the deal with the arrow craze? On everything from wall art to clothing, this has to be related to the trendy obsession with everything Native American. While it's not as bad as Urban Outfitters appropriating "Navajo" prints, for example, it's still played out. Photo: Pretty Penny Designs On Etsy

Chalkboard Paint

I think every single food, decor or lifestyle blogger I follow has at least one surface in her home that's covered in chalkboard paint. While it was maybe cute and creative back in 2010, isn't everyone getting tired of having all their stuff covered in chalk dust? Photo: Eclair Marie

Ombré

I think we all get it by now that things look cool when they're more than one color. But between ombré hair, ombré wedding cakes, ombré clothing and ombré furniture, I stopped caring. Photo: Ampris Loves on Etsy
