If you're a celebrity news hound, then you probably have already heard about the kiss(es) seen 'round the world. I'm of course talking about the new photos of Tom Hiddleston kissing Taylor Swift, which were published by The Sun on Wednesday and proceeded to shake up everyone's lives. (In response to the photos, Bustle reached out to both Swift and Hiddleston's reps — Swift's rep has yet to respond, while Hiddleston's rep had no comment.) I've been scanning through these photos and trying to process just what the heck is happening in famous people land, and so far I'm coming up with no explanations other than what's in front of me. Swift and her DJ boyfriend Calvin Harris broke up mere weeks ago, so if these photos are legit, the singer has moved on fairly quickly. Fortunately, this potential rebound (if that's, in fact, what it is) relationship between Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston might actually make some sense.

I was a big Talvin shipper, so digesting the news that Swift has moved on was not easy. However, I'm also a huge Hiddleston fan, and, obviously, Swift could do far worse. In fact, now that I've taken time to absorb the information about Swift and Hiddleston, I can now acknowledge that there are a ton of reasons why Swift and Hiddleston would be good together. While we'll have to wait for comments from the duo to find out if the photos are the real deal, here are 11 reasons why these two might actually make sense:

1. They're Both Taking A New Step In Their Careers

Swift traded in her country songs for pop tunes, while Hiddleston is becoming just as well-known for his roles in dramas like I Saw The Light and Crimson Peak as he is his role as Loki in the Marvel Universe.

2. Swift Clearly Has A Thing For Dudes From Across The Pond

Swift has dated the English Harry Styles and the Scottish Calvin Harris, and Hiddleston is also a Brit.

3. They Make Great Dance Partners

Swift and Hiddleston were spotted getting down at the Met Gala together to a T.I. song.

4. They Have Huge Fan Bases

Here's hoping that there are friendly relations between Swifties and the Hiddlestoners.

5. They Can Both Sing

Hiddleston proved he has pipes during his portrayal of Hank Williams in I Saw The Light, and, well, you already know Swift can do it.

6. They Both Know How To Be Super Romantic... On Camera

Swift's music videos will give you all the feels, and Hiddleston definitely knows how to play a romantic leading man — even with his suuuuper creepy character in Crimson Peak.

7. PDA Doesn't Bother Them

The singer previously posted photos of her kissing her then-BF Harris on her Instagram, and considering that Hiddleston was snapped in public canoodling with Swift, I think it's safe to say they don't mind public displays of affection.

8. Hiddleston Isn't A Boy Bander

Because you know those boys are trouble when they walk in.

9. They're Both Cool With Attention

You don't take on a huge role in a Marvel movie or drop a very personal pop album if you're not cool with people wanting to know more about you.

10. They Know How To Be Goofy

Hiddleston cozied up to Miss Piggy and Swift wasn't afraid of letting it all loose Saturday Night Live.

11. They Clean Up Good

Neither of them would be able to go as one another's arm candy, because they're both ridiculously gorgeous.

I may have been suspicious at first, but, okay, world: I'm down with Hiddleswift if you are.
