Behold, Ben & Jerry's New Cookie Dough Ale Is Here

This week might have marked the official start of summer, but now that the new Ben & Jerry's cookie dough beer from New Belgium Brewing is set to hit shelves this fall, summer can officially consider itself old news. This new ale, a delicious follow-up to last year's Ben & Jerry's salted caramel ale, will be both available on shelves and taps — preferably one that I live directly under with a mouth funnel, thank you very much. Can you even imagine the ice cream beer float possibilities? No. No, you cannot, because then your brain would explode from the anticipation.

Not only is this ale flavored after what I would argue is definitively the most delicious Ben & Jerry's flavor Of All Time (granted, I tend to argue based on whatever flavor I have most recently consumed, so take that with grain of hops), but the sales will majorly help the environment. Protect Our Winters (POW), a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness about climate change, will receive $55,000 of the proceeds. So basically it's time to make your Facebook event for "Ice Cream Beer & Save The World Turnt" and invite all your besties in anticipation. Here's what it's going to look like on shelves this fall:

Um, is it just me or is that cow fly AF? Setting beer and fashion trends early for fall 2016, y'all.

“We are excited to be partnering once again with the good folks at Ben & Jerry’s and POW,” said New Belgium Director of Sustainability, Jenn Vervier, in a press release. “The beer in development tastes amazing and we look forward to talking about climate change and climate action. With the upcoming election and a new administration, year two is even more important than the first round.”

More details about the beer are forthcoming — including exactly how long it's going to last on shelves. But the words ~special edition~ for sure mean you're going to have to stock up while it's still around. And if anybody scores some and needs a drinking buddy, HMU. You bring the ale, I'll bring the ice cream, it'll be a rad time.
