An App That Teaches You How to Give Oral

Have you ever wished that there was an easy-peasy way to teach your sexytime partners how to go down on you? Well, you’re in luck: There’s an app for that, and it’s called “Lick This.”

Dreamed up by a team of creatives calling themselves Club Sexy Time (by day, they all work in the San Francisco office of advertising agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners), Lick This offers a series of double entendre-loaded exercises geared towards sharpening your technique. Visiting lickthisapp.com on your smartphone’s browser gives you three different drills to choose from, no download required. The first challenges you to flick a light switch on and off as many times as you can; the second asks you to sharpen a whole bunch of pencils by twirling the handle of an old-school manual pencil sharpener; and the third lets you freestyle by telling you to bounce a beach ball as many times as possible.

I couldn’t quite bring myself to slather my tongue all over my phone, so I tested them out the old fashioned way with my finger. Will they really be effective in teaching technique? In theory, yes; but in practice? I’m not so sure. But maybe that’s the point: Rather than being an oral training tool, it’s intended to start a dialogue. Speaking to Fast Co. Create, co-creator Chris Allick said, “Do we think you’ll be a better lover because of it? No. Do we think it’s an interesting approach to human computer interaction and making people think about their sexuality and maybe start a conversation? Totes.” Use of the word “totes” aside, he could be on to something.

Club Sexy Time is even working on adding more exercises to the app. Says Pablo Rochat, another one of the app’s masterminds, “People in the office have contributed other options. Moving a zipper up and down, solving a maze, ringing a doorbell. Someone even suggested tongue whack-a-mole.” Just, y’know… keep those disinfectant wipes handy.
