Did A Contestant's Bro Spoil 'The Bachelorette'?

by Kristie Rohwedder

Warning: What you’re about to read may contain The Bachelorette spoilers. If you prefer to err on the side of caution and do not want to see anything that may give away how JoJo Fletcher’s season ends, hit the back button on your browser now. There’s still time.

You’re still here? Wonderful. Let’s get to the maybe-spoiler.

On Tuesday, Womanista interviewed one Bachelorette suitor's brother on Facebook Live to discuss—you guessed it!—The Bachelorette, and dude miiiiight’ve spilled the season's outcome. Luke Rodgers, brother of Season 12 contestant Jordan Rodgers, chatted with the site about Monday night’s hometown date episode, his family's experience with the reality dating competition series, and his dog. And as Us Weekly oh-so astutely points out, stuff veered into maybe-spoiler territory when he brought up JoJo watching his family's go-to movies:

"[JoJo was different in how] she was able to just so easily come lockstep with our family and conversations and stuff, except for the fact that she is missing some very crucial movies that we quote a lot, but we're going to catch— We could catch her up with that, should she need to be caught up, depending on how this whole thing ends. But yeah, she can definitely roll with us, which is fun. It was really fun."

Did that mid-sentence course correction catch (har har har) your eye, too? Now, maybe it was just an innocuous mistake. A meaningless slip-up we shouldn’t read into. Hey, flubs happen to all of us! It really may not be a big deal! Let's leave it be!

But what if we SHOULD read into it? What if it wasn't an innocuous mistake? What if it was a totally illuminating mistake? What if he said "we're going to" because JoJo is currently in his and his family’s lives? What if he knows for a fact that he and his family will teach JoJo all of their favorite movie quotes? What if he just revealed that Jordan won the whole shebang?!?!

Side note: I am genuinely bummed Luke's French Bulldog didn't make it onto The Bachelorette. As anyone who has looked at his Instagram pics will tell ya, the pooch has serious star power. For all we know, Carl could've been the next Bachelor in Paradise raccoon! (Oops, I'm a sucker for any and all cheesy animal bits the show has to offer.)
