18 Pins Your '90s Self Would've Loved

by Eliza Florendo

I'm going to make a pretty interesting comparison here: Pins to our clothing is like toppings on our pizza. They're fun, they're colorful, and they totally make the full picture. And what's better than '90s-themed pins to spice up your backpacks, jackets, hats, and more? They're basically the most fun accessory. Though they're small, they add a serious punch.

In the '90s, it was all about the patches: Cartoon characters, catch phrases, rainbows, unicorns—you name it, our denim jackets had it. Each and every time I wore my jeans through and ripped them up, I'd add a patch. What looked cooler than that? And, when my backpack that I had all throughout elementary school ripped, you guessed it, I added patch. Not only did they mend my broken items, but they also added a super cool look.

Pins were also all the rage back in the day, but they've come all the way back in 2016. Smaller, cuter, and more minimal, pins are totally on trend this year. While we're all about the quirks, the more simple, minimal accessories are making the rounds. Enter the mini pin: one tiny metal addition with one big, spunky personality. Whether it's a lipstick, a compact, a flag, emoji, or smiley face, they always add such a cute little statement.

It's all in the math: '90s-inspired accessory plus cute little pin equals one badass accessory. These mini pins will have your '90s nostalgia all the way up.
