The mega matte lip trend is one of the biggest in the beauty world this year. But gloss has steadily mounted its comeback and is returning to prominence. Karrueche Tran and ColourPop have teamed up for another collection. This time, they are (mostly) focused on shine, as they are launching several Ultra Glossy Lip shades, along with one Ultra Matte liquid lippie. The latest KaePop x Karrueche x ColourPop collection arrives on Thursday, August 25. The products will be shoppable via the ColourPop site, which is the brand's sales platform. What colors are the Karrueche x ColourPop lippies?
Here is the breakdown. There are three Ultra Glossy Lip shades in the collection, along with one special liquid matte lippie, per Tran's Instagram post revealing the hues.
There is Lychee Me, a pinky x peachy nude. It's stunning. There's also Fudg'd, which is a bit more beige in tone. You can shop Stain, which is a maroon hue. Those are the Ultra Glossy Lip colors.
Then there is Saigon, a rich, vivid red named after the birthplace of Tran's mother and which nods to one of the colors in the Vietnamese flag. Saigon is the sole Ultra Matte Lip shade in the new KaePop collection.
Peep the tubes below. The three glosses are to the left, with the matte on the far right. But you probably noticed that each product's texture is stamped on the tube itself.
You can swipe two or three coats of any of these shades onto your pout and it'll instantly brighten up your whole face. You'll look pulled together with just a few slicks of lip color. You can go for sweet but sexy with the nude shades, which will pair well with smoky eyes. Or you can make a statement with the darker, bombshell red hues and cat-eye liner. #Options.
ICYMI: This was the promo image from the first KaePop collection from early 2016. The style influencer, model, and actress and the indie, L.A.-based cosmetics brand launched the '90s-influenced, nudes and neutrals-driven KaePop collection earlier this year. It was comprised of eyeshadows, several Ultra Matte Lips, a highlighter, and a blush.
Clearly, this collab works, since Tran and ColourPop are back for another round of on-trend, affordable, and quality products.
