Chrissy Teigen Is Clearly On The Never Trump Train

by Krutika Pathi

When it comes to anything Donald-Trump-related, celebrity Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend have never refrained from posting some pretty scathing (but true) tweets. They've been calling out the Trump campaign since it began. And recently, Teigen mocked Katrina Pierson, Trump's spokeswoman, on Twitter. And her relentlessly brutal tweets demonstrated how much Teigen really dislikes and disagrees with Trump's campaign.

The Hollywood couple are fierce supporters of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, and in an August interview with The Daily Beast, Legend revealed what he really thinks of Trump:

Trump's been a public personality forever and that's fine if you want him to be a reality TV host, but if you want him to be president there's a different standard. And remember, his entry into being a Republican was questioning the citizenship of the first black president.

Similarly, Teigen has voiced her criticisms of Trump and his campaign for months now, consistently using 140-character tweets to make incisive yet straightforward statements. Let's just go back to Trump's 70th birthday in June, when Teigen basically shut him down in a few words in a social media post. "Happy birthday, you monumental a**hole," she posted with a photo of the Republican nominee on her Instagram page.

And now she's back at it again, mockingly referring to spokeswoman Pierson as an "inspiration," before launching into a series of tweets that leave no doubt about what Teigen thinks of Trump, his team and the campaign.

While Teigen admitted that she wouldn't be a great campaign spokeswoman herself, she argued that Pierson isn't great at it either. Teigen took her criticism further by questioning how Pierson does her job every day, perhaps remembering the times Pierson has defended Trump's sexist remarks and his ways of talking down to women. She concluded with a pretty hilarious clip from The Office, mocking Pierson further.

Of course, Pierson responded with a succinct and surprisingly positive message:

We'll be waiting for Teigen and Legend to chime in once Trump or his team say the next outrageous thing. In the meantime, Teigen will likely continue to stand strong in her political views. And based on her outspoken tweets, she might actually make a better campaign spokeswoman than Pierson (although clearly not for Trump).
