T. Swift Honors Jaime King's Son In A Big Way

When it comes to best friend duties, T. Swift takes them seriously. For example, Taylor Swift honored Jaime King's son, Leo Thames Newman, in a huge way. King revealed on Twitter Wednesday that her BFF donated money to Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles on behalf of her second child, who also happens to be Swift's godson. The 26-year-old singer made the donation because, as King revealed in her tweet, Leo was diagnosed with transportation of the great arteries (TGA) at 20 weeks old. The diagnosis led to Leo getting major heart surgery, but don't worry, because he is doing well now and as King put it in the note she posted on Twitter, "He will live a full and whole life and never have to look back."

It's moments like these that just go to show you how amazing of a friend Swift is. It's something that King recognizes, too. "Taylor does countless selfless acts that go unnoticed because she does them silently, from such a great place of unconditional giving," King wrote. "As the Godmother of Leo Thames for his birthday she gave an incredible donation to the people that saved his life Dr. Allistar [sic] Phillips and his brilliant team."

Based on King's note, it seems that she was totally caught off guard by Swift's act of love. To receive a letter in the mail from Cedars-Sinai and then read that your best friend donated money in honor of your son who fought for his life at such a young age has to be a wonderful feeling. "TS knew that by giving back in this way would be the greatest gift one could give to us, Leo Thames, to all of those with congenital heart issues," King's note also reads. "She came to the ICU to comfort us, to hold, to bond with him with such grace and strength. Our gift back is to share our story that anyone that is going through this is not alone, we understand and want to stand up to bring awareness in the greatest way possible."

Swift probably didn't even realize what a donation like this would mean to King. It's more than the monetary value that is touching, but the fact that she is showing compassion and even helping to open up a discussion about TGA is beautiful.

I think it's safe to say that T. Swift is one of the the best godmothers and BFFs out there.
