Behold This Spot On "Women With Headphones" Parody

Last week, the internet lit up in righteous outrage in response to dating “expert” Dan Bacon’s article, “How To Talk To a Woman Who Is Wearing Headphones.” Bacon’s misguided advice inspired a wave of hilarious social media responses, but this video about women with headphones is the last, greatest addition to this meme you’ll ever need. It even features a song with the lyrics, “Douchebags saving girls from headphones.” What more could you need in life?

In his original article, Bacon writes, “These days, many women walk around playing with a smartphone or tablet device and are often wearing headphones and listening to music at the same time. Yet, that doesn’t mean you can’t talk to them.” All of Internetland spoke up to say, “Yes, it does. That is EXACTLY what that means.”

A new video from Honest Monster, an all-female sketch group led by Deirdre Devlin and Vana Dabney, considers another possibility: What if headphone-wearing ladies are actually suffering from an illness known as “Headphones in Ears”? And what if douchebags are the only ones who can save them?

According to statistics from the video’s friendly host, “one in five women suffers from headphones in the ears.” If you’re wondering why that’s a problem, consider this: Headphones make it “impossible [for a woman] to be asked out or even talked to by a guy.” How can she even live?!

Thankfully, the video offers the Douchebag Cure, in which an eager douchebag interrupts a woman in headphones and insists she take them off. Thank goodness! Otherwise, how would she have known how to remove them?

Obviously, any woman who gets cured of “Headphones in Ears” by a random guy is going to be super grateful.

Be sure to watch the whole video above, if only for the majesty of the “Douchebags Saving Girls From Headphones” song, which ends on the triumphant lyric, “Douchebags are the cure!” Aren’t they just?
